SEPTEMBER 9, 2009 - KELSEY MASTERS OAK HILL AND THE COMPETITION

Danny Kelsey continued to "run the table" at the CMRA's penultimate round held at the historic Oak Hill Raceway. Oak Hill has been the Georgetown, Texan's favorite track...it has been the venue of his first Novice and Expert class wins. With "rumors" of the track possibly being removed from the CMRA schedule permanently, the young Texas rider had a little "extra motivation" to perform his best.

When Ricky Parker showed up, Kelsey was stoked. Ricky and Danny have known each other for awhile with Ricky also having a close friendship with former RPS Team rider Dustin Doucet. With the two riders kidding each other who would "go fastest", at the drop of the 1st green flag, the "kidding" got serious and Parker picked up the first win of the day despite Kelsey turning a fastest lap (of the day) of 1:22.9 at the famed 1.8 mile circuit.

Kelsey retaliated the next two races taking wins in the C Superstock and A Superstock races while lowering the "best time of the day" by a few hundredths of a second. Parker struck back in the B Superbike race by taking a narrow win.

The final race of the day for Kelsey was C Superbike...an interesting predictament developed. Parker was not the one chomping on Kelsey's tailsection, but rather Clint Shobert...yes, the son of AMA ProRacing legend Bubba Shobert was using this race as his own "coming out" party. Kelsey however stayed steady, and was able to fend off the challenges from the young Texan and Danny won his final race at the world's best know "club track" for training world champions.

The team was proud of Kelsey as he battled brake problems ALL weekend, and he not only "rode through it all", but managed to win and perform at the highest level of the weekend.
