Introducing the newest product from RPS Manufacturing…
PRO Drag Racing Forks
PRO Drag Racing Forks are the newest product from RPS Manufacturing. They provide up to 4 inches of fork length reduction AND give customers USABLE SUSPENSION. The key to our PRO Drag Racing Forks is that we give customers up to 25 TIMES the rebound damping that is provided in a stock fork. In addition, the stock adjusters become functional and customers can actually “tune” their forks if they desire.
This new product offering from RPS Manufacturing was done for two reasons:
SAFETY – After witnessing how most vendors “slam forks”, the customer is left with nothing more than a strut OR even worse a super stiff front fork with no damping that can actually EXAGGERATE negative features of a track by having “spring with no damping”. With no movement OR actual “suspension”, riders can crash when they try to casually “grab the front” brake as they slow down to exit the track.
PERFORMANCE – Ultimately, this product is all about performance. Specifically, with actual suspension that ABSORBS the energies created by bumps, track irregularities, and the motorcycle itself, customers of PRO Drag Racing Forks can count on more stability, better chassis reaction to weight transfer, and overall improved performance.
TOTAL FORK LENGTH REDUCTION
Generally, we can reduce the length of forks by about 3.5” to 4”. Big Piston forks generally can be reduced by about 3.5” to 3.75”. Conventional damper rod forks can be reduced by 3.75” to 4”. We like to always have at least a ½” to ¾” of travel so that fork can work properly. Here are some references to help you:
BIG PISTON FORKS – These are normally installed on newer model GSXR’s, ZX-10’s, and Kawasaki H2’s.
STANDARD DAMPER ROD FORKS – These forks are generally on ZX-14’s, Hayabusa’s, and Pre-2009 GSXR’s
CUT FORKS (Pro Street, Grudge, etc.)
For motorcycles that already have cut forks, we can generally add ¾” of travel and make them actually work. We will preserve the lead weights attached to the damper rod, modify as needed.
The cost for our PRO Drag Racing Forks is $399.00 for UNMODIFIED Stock forks that only request 3” or less of height reduction.
It is $499.00 for previously modified forks or forks that request more than 3” of fork length reduction.. The reason for this cost difference is that we generally have to repair what the previous technician damaged when they “CUT OR SLAMMED” your forks AND it take longer to make sure we safely make your forks when you are requesting this fork length.
QUESTION: “ARE THESE CUT FORKS?”
ANSWER: “No, “Cut Forks” are when the outer tube and fork are “cut” (to reduce over length), then the outer tube is welded back together OR CUT and then re-threaded for the cap (depending on the service provider you used previously).
QUESTION: “I HAVE CUT FORKS FOR PRO STREET, CAN YOU MODIFY THEM TO WORK LIKE YOURS?
ANSWER: “Yes. We generally have to add at least a ½” in length so that you have usable travel. We also need all the original parts. In most cases, your forks will have them. This specifically includes the metering rods and fork valves. Most vendors DO NOT REMOVE OR MODIFY THESE, so usually it will be no problem. In most cases, we recommend that you “slide the forks up” in the triple clamps approximately ½ of the total length we add. In most cases, this means you need to slide the forks up about 3/8th’s of an inch.”
QUESTION: "WHAT DO I NEED TO GET MY FORKS DONE?"
ANSWER: “So long as your fork is fully intact, just send us the forks…we do the rest.”
QUESTION: "CAN I RESTORE MY ORIGINAL FORK LENGTH OR MODIFY IT AGAIN AFTER RPS DOES IT'S INITIAL WORK?"
ANSWER: "Yes. RPS professionally modifies your fork. You can restore or change anything you like. There is a small charge though...usually less than $150.00"
